What is Marketing?
Over the past years, I have heard many business owners use the term “marketing” to describe sales, advertising, logos, telemarketers, and handing out fliers. The truth is that many of these things consist of marketing in some form or another, but none of them accurately describe what marketing is. Marketing is actually the message that a company wants to get across. This message can come in a variety of ways that describe the product or service such as “fast delivery”, “grass fed beef”, “quality appliances” or “cheap laundry”. The message can also describe how the company interacts with their customer and/or employees such as “we treat you like family”, “employee owned”, “we provide a great experience” or “knowledgeable sales staff” Defining your companies message builds a brand which we will discuss more about later on.
Online Business Development
So its 2015+ and you know your company is supposed to be online, but how so? Why should you use social media for your business? Can you trust your employees to interact with your social media? Do you even need a website anymore? The answer to these questions vary from company to company, because there are so many possible factors that need to be considered. I can sit down and help you create a business that uses the internet to achieve their goals and provide a better experience to their users.
Branding (Marketing Oriented)
Branding has a really bad reputation of being just logos, symbols and stickers on vans that no one ever really notices. The brand of your company is its personality. Chances are there is something that keeps your customers coming back to your company whether it is your excellent customer service, unique experience, unique technology, reasonable pricing, or the excellent quality of your product. As part of my branding service we can analyze the relationship with your suppliers, employees and your customers and use that information to help you focus your efforts on what provides your competitive advantage over your competitors.
Search Engine Marketing and SEO
Why do people use the internet? This is a simple question that I feel deserves a simple answer, to find information that they did not know about, and to provide information that they do. Customers are looking online for the closest salon, the newest trendy clothes, new products, and for services needed. Search engine marketing provides those customers with answers to those questions, and provides you with a qualified lead to make a sale. SEO or “Search Engine Optimization” is the act of making sure that the information going to those customers is exactly what they are looking for.
How should I communicate with my customers online?
Many business owners are so used to the brick and mortar customers that communicating with strangers online is something that can seem abstract. I grew up with chat rooms, online gaming, and online college classes. I know how to utilize the internet to build relationships to help you build relationships with your customers.
Content marketing is a primary function of Search Engine Optimization, and also an excellent way to communicate with your customers about news, new products, questions about your services, or even just sharing something that readers may find useful. This is commonly referred to as blogging. It is a very important function of a business looking to expand online.
I am sure everyone has heard of nightmarish customer reviews on websites such as Yelp, Bing Places, and Google Places. I can help you monitor for negative reviews and consult on solutions for fixing those reviews if they occur. I can also help you to use positive reviews to promote your business and build relationships with your customers.
How do I know if this is working? How can we measure the success of our marketing?
Digital marketing seems like an intangible service to many, however thanks to the abundance of analysis tools out there and some techniques used in traditional marketing, we can track, measure and set goals based on the numbers we receive from your website.
Using analytic tools from Google, Bing, WebCEO and more, we can accurately define metrics that will measure the growth and success of your company online. I will be able to work with you on improving the results of our analytics to fit your needs whether your goal is to improve your search engine rank, engage more customers on your website, or collect more data on your customers.
Marketing Strategy and SWOT Analysis
Once we have well defined metrics and goals in place we will be able to work together to develop an overall marketing strategy, and conduct an analysis of your companies strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in both an overall and an online environment. We will be able to use this analysis to improve many aspects of your company.
